Brekkukot Luxury Farmhouse policy/booking terms.

General terms and conditions
ahsig ehf. reserves the right to cancel orders, for instance on account of  incorrect information as well as stop offering leasing or other on-site services, without notice. The right is reserved to confirm orders by telephone or e-mail.

ahsig ehf. reserves the right to change its rates in case of economic changes, including, but not limited to, currency fluctuations, inflation, increased cost of supplies, tax increases and other force majeure events.

Children are welcome.
Pets are not allowed.
Wireless internet is available and is free of charge.                                                                                                                                                     Brekkukot, Luxury Farmhouse is a non smoking area.
Parking for all guests is available on site and is free of charge.
There are rules of conduct in Brekkukot and guests are asked to respect them.

Booking and payment
We accept payments by cash, and following cards: Visa, Euro/Mastercard and Maestro with no extra charge. Payments are also accepted through PayPal or directly deposited into the Brekkukot bank account.  Reservations, by individuals or groups, can be made online through Brekkukot website as well as by e-mail.  E-mail must state the number of arriving visitors and their names. Booking is not confirmed until you have fully paid for your stay by card or deposit. The payment must be paid in full no later than 7 days prior to arrival. Once the booking has been made and paid in full we will send you a receipt via email. In case of no show, the total price will be charged. During winter time in case weather and road conditions do not permit you to travel to Brekkukot on the arranged date, please give me a call and we'll discuss our mutual options.

Renting and fee                                                                                                                                                                
It is possible to rent from Friday to Sunday or Monday to Thursday for the same fee. Other requests are by agreement. 11% VAT is included in the rental charge as well as lodging tax.

Check in/out
You are welcome to check in between 16:00 and 20.00 pm on the day of your arrival and please check out before 12:00 noon. In case of late arrival, please let me know about it. 

Cancellations and prepayment
Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 7 days before arrival. The guest will be charged the total amount if they cancel within 7 days from planned arrival. If the guest doesn't show up they will be charged the total amount. No pre-payment is needed.

Personal travel insurance                                                                                                                                      
Individual travel insurance is not included in renting prices. It is strongly recommended that clients take out a comprehensive travel insurance against contingencies, including compensation for medical costs and cancellation fees. The hot pool is about 39°C. Neither Brekkukot's owner nor A. Herdís Sigurðardóttir take any responsibility for visitors injured in or at the pool.

Confidentiality - Security Terms                                                                                                                             
The seller promises the purchaser that all information provided in connection with the transaction is treated as confidential. Information provided by customers such as credit card numbers or other personal information will not, under any circumstances, be given to third parties, such as. credit card number or other personal information from customers.

Law and venue                                                                                                                                                             
This agreement is in accordance with legislation and must be interpreted and enforced according to Icelandic law.  Any legal action shall be brought before the Court of Northwest Iceland.

Rules of conduct

​

Please treat the house well, both inside and outdoors!

  • The lessee is responsible for the house during the stay.

  • Please put trash in a bag and throw it in the bin next to the back door.

  • Please do not use duvets without duvet covers.

  • Smoking is not allowed inside the house. It is forbidden to throw cigarettes around the house, use the trash can please.

  • Pets are not allowed indoors. If they are kept outside, their owner takes full responsibility for their animals and must ensure that they leave no traces behind.

  • Please, do not trespass into the fence where sheep and cows are grazing. Access to stable and barn is strictly prohibited unless accompanied by a farmer. We want to promote the safety of our visitors, animals and the farmer. Please, ask for a visit to the farmer in advance.

  • Hiking along the road is easy and acceptable.

  • Please, walk in the back door if the shoes are dirty. Clean the shoes before entering the house.

  • In bad weather make sure you don't light a fire in the fireplace. Close the windows and outside doors. In case of a storm, please wait until the weather improves before leaving.

  • Use caution with fire, candles and barbeque.

  • Remember to turn of the gas immediately when you have finish barbequing.

  • Please close the gate when you leave the house.

  • Note! The top wire in the fence may be electric!

  • The hot pot is heated to 39° Celcius. Note! It is completely forbidden to use the hot pot without washing the entire body with soap before you enter the hot pot! Please! walk around the back door when you go to the hot pot, thank you.

  • Neither Brekkukot's owner nor A. Herdís Sigurðardóttir take any responsibility for visitors injured in or at the pool.
